VMware certification – no more separate portals on PearsonVUE

VMware certification system was designed such that a test taker had two different portals for booking a certification. The associate and professional level exams (VCA and VCP) were available under one portal and all the other advanced level exams (VCIX and VCDX) were made available on a separate portal. Yes, you heard it right. VCP Certifications now come with an Expiration Date. Just like all certifications(At least most of them in the industry),  VMware too, has decided to  impose an expiration date on all its VCP Certifications. All the Certifications that are already given out and will be given out will come with a “Valid Through” Attribute which will say till when you will be holding the certificate before it expires. Get authorized by VMware before registering for a certification

All these years there were no strict rules that you have to finish authorized training and then get a VCP certification. You could go ahead and take up the certification and then finish the authorized training after which your certification would be complete. This was a wrong way of doing it but it was possible. After lot of announcements that came out in VMworld 2013, VMware certification also went through a lot of changes. Now there are a whole set
